These hand-sewn scabbards for SCA-style rattan swords and daggers are designed to work with various types of commercially available sword hardware. Most of these designs are for use with common 1 ¼" diameter rattan. That means if you are using a big, fat, flat sword I would have to make you a specific pattern. Those people who want a wide sword belt should send me the buckle they intend to use along with their payment.
Proper belt hardware can be difficult to find. Contact Kingskeep Armory, Billy and Charlie's Pewter Goods or Anshelm Arms for quality buckles, belt tips and decorative pieces.
The basic Atzinger scabbard deal comes with brass studs and hand-cast buckles.
The prices are-
Dagger scabbard and belt- $90 (postage included in price)
Sword scabbard and belt- $160 (postage included in price)
Send me the color scheme you want and your waist measurement. I will add extra bells and whistles if you want. Also tell me what side you intend on wearing your sword or dagger. If you intend on using a larger sword, send me the dimensions you intend on using, or better yet- send me the fully-shaped stick or finished rattan sword. Dimensions should be enough, though.
As far as early period types of scabbards, if somebody can make a suggestion as to how I can achieve an early period look without elaborate tooling of knotwork or whatever, I would appreciate it.
